New employee welcome events
New employees working remotely, and unable to attend the in-person event, are invited
to participate in an hour-long overview of UAF via Zoom. These events are held monthly.
Attendees will receive a branded UAF t-shirt.
The events are tentatively scheduled for the following dates

New employees will receive an invitation directly and will need to RSVP a week in
advance to prepare catering. A sample schedule is below.
- 8:15 a.m. — Check in
- 8:30-8:55 a.m. — Coffee and muffins with °Ä²Êͼ¿â Chancellor
- 9-9:30 a.m. — Discover UAF — mission, vision and culture
- 9:30-9:35 a.m. — Break
- 9:35-9:50 a.m. — Perspectives on student success panel
- 10:00-10:30 a.m. — Taking care of each other: A culture of safety and support panel
- 10:45 a.m. — Ride shuttle to West Ridge for a tour of the Alaska Earthquake Center followed by a visit to the UA Museum of the North (on your own)
Invitations for this event will be sent to new staff and faculty. If you are interested in attending, please reach out to UAF-welcome-team@alaska.edu.
Additionally, New Faculty Orientation, hosted by the Center for Teaching and Learning,
will take place Aug. 18.
Staff and faculty head shots will take place Aug. 19. Details to come.
