Cutter grew up in Delta Junction Alaska and graduated from Delta Senior High School in the top 5 of his class. After graduating high school he decided to continue his education and applied for UAF. UAF was affordable and close to home as well as a highly decorated university so he decided it was the best option. Cutter got involved with HSAC through friends and is very grateful of the wonderful community he is involved with.

Cutter is going into his sophomore year at UAF and is currently majoring in Anthropology with a focus in Archaeology. Cutter is currently the Vice President for HSAC and wishes to continue working with the committee to make UAF and the world a better place. “Life is a journey so venture into the unknown."

Caden was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. They are currently in their third year at °Ä²Êͼ¿â pursuing a degree in biomedical sciences with a minor in history. Caden joined the Honors College to pursue a more in-depth understanding of their studies. Along the way, they found a community that inspired them to give back. 

Caden enjoys rock climbing, crocheting, learning about ancient history, and traveling the world to experience new cultures and meet their friends. They are incredibly excited to help with orientation and hope to make it more accessible for disabled students.

Jedidiah, a native of North Pole, Alaska, is majoring in Wildlife Biology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. They are passionate about nature and animals and enjoy spending time outdoors and observing the wildlife.

The cost-effectiveness and opportunities offered were major factors in their decision to attend UAF. When applying to colleges, Jedidiah was particularly interested in the Honors College for its potential to academically challenge themselves and connect with a community of motivated students. As a current member of the Honors College, Jedidiah is eager to collaborate with their peers in the Honors Student Advisory Council and achieve great things together.

Cassidy grew up in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California and graduated from San Lorenzo Valley High School with honors. After living in small towns of 1,000 and 3,000 people for seven years, she decided to move away and applied to UAF. UAF was an affordable alternative to community college in California while still offering a smaller community and without compromising the proximity to nature that she was used to.

Cassidy was a second-year student at UAF majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology and was an Honors College RA. Cassidy became Chair of the Wellness Committee because she wants to create balance between mental health and wellness with the school and work lives of the honors community.

Cassidy passed away in the summer of 2025. She was steady, considerate, and truly passionate when it came to supporting students. She was a pillar of the Honors College community. Her light, laughter, and heart helped shape a culture rooted in care, real connection, and most importantly, love. That legacy will stay with us forever. Thank you Cassidy for your dedication and compassionate service to the Honors College.

Lee is originally from the Olympic Peninsula in Washington and moved to Fairbanks to attend UAF in order to study climate change in the Arctic. He is a Geophysics major minoring in Arctic Studies. Lee joined the Climate Scholars program as part of the next step towards a climate focused career and to encourage other students to learn how they can aid in climate action.

During the summer Lee likes to hike and go to the lake with his dog, hunt for cool rocks, and run. In the wetter months Lee makes tea, carves wood, reads, and snowboards. He has recently started writing stories based on Tolkien’s Middle Earth mythology in an attempt to contribute to the greater lore, as Tolkien had imagined.
