College of Liberal Arts
At the College of Liberal Arts, research and creative work go beyond the classroom. You might report on Arctic climate change for a science and environmental journalism project, work alongside legislators through the Ted Stevens internship program, design and perform an original play with the Department of Theatre and Film, or excavate prehistoric sites in the Tanana Valley with a faculty-led archaeology field school. You’ll work closely with faculty who are both mentors and collaborators, and you’ll learn by doing—through fieldwork, studio practice, and community-based projects shaped by the North. In a place defined by complexity and change, your work here won’t just build skills—it will matter.
